Kudos to Justice Oyewole

SQUIB KUDOS
(1) To:

Honourable Justice Adenike Coker for an admirable display of coolness in court. At a pre-trial session in her court on Thursday 17th January, 2008. A lady lawyer repeatedly addressed the court as “you” despite numerous corrections. The judge did not lose her temper or get irritable. At the end of the session, Coker J gently intoned:

“Perhaps it will help us all if we get more acquainted with this ladyship and Lordship idea. Maybe before coming to court, you say it about twenty times a day” ...

(2) To:

Honourable Justice Olubunmi Oyewole for rising above petty
sentiments that would have assailed lesser mortals and made them not to do the just and right thing. Oyewole J. who had earlier on in a case refused the bail application of an accused person, grant(EFCC) continued to delay in producing their witnesses.
Incidentally, the accused person had written petitions against the honourable judge, just a few months ago accusing him of bias against him. The petitions failed however, and the judge was directed to continue hearing the case.
